UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo may be an exceptionally tough individual but it would have been understandable if the 25-year old Brazilian found himself frightened this past weekend after being involved in an accident while riding his motorcycle. Aldo, who was knocked from his bike after a car hit it, was fortunate to escape with only minimal injuries including some bumps, bruises, scrapes, and a swollen foot.
Fortunately, it also appears Aldo is still healthy enough to continue training for his October 13 title-defense against Frankie Edgar at UFC 153.
TATAME confirmed Aldo?s condition with his coaches at Nova Uniao who assured the regional outlet ?Scarface? would not be riding his motorcycle again before facing off with Edgar and is expected to resume his preparation next week once he?s healed up completely.
21-1 Aldo Predicts Effort Against Edgar Will Result in “Fight of the Year”
Aldo?s bout with Edgar will mark the fourth time he?s put his UFC belt on the line, racking up victories over Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, and Chad Mendes along the way. It is also his second straight defense in front of his fellow Brazilians.
