Tony Ferguson ekes out decision over Yves Edwards at TUF 14 finale
The previous winner of "The Ultimate Fighter," Tony Ferguson, got another win at a TUF finale, getting a decision over veteran fighter Yves Edwards on Saturday night in Las Vegas. The judges saw it 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 for Ferguson.
Ferguson started aggressively, throwing several leg kicks early in the first round. Edwards responded with a massive head kick and powerful strikes, catching Ferguson with a powerful leg kick as Ferguson was spinning around. Ferguson came on strong late in the round with a series of combinations that shook Edwards. He struggled to find his bearing as he leaned against the fence, but managed to recover and hit Ferguson with a head kick.
In the final 30 seconds of the round, Edwards shot on Ferguson, who rolled to put Edwards in a shoulder lock. Edwards managed to get out of the bad position as the round ended.
Edwards came out strong in the second, landing several punches and a flying knee early in the round. Ferguson's nose began to bleed about halfway through the round from the flurry of action. With 1:30 left, Edwards rocked Ferguson with a punch, but he stayed on his feet. The bout finally went to the ground with about 20 seconds left, as Ferguson got a takedown.
Both men turned to kicks in the third round. Ferguson opened the round with a painful body kick, while Edwards used several leg kicks and head kicks to wear down "The Ultimate Fighter" winner. They finished with a big flurry in the final 10 seconds with both fighters throwing every punch they had to convince judges who won the fight.
Ferguson is now 3-0 in the UFC with an overall record of 13-2. Edwards, who was fighting professionally when Ferguson was still in high school, is now 41-18-1.

Chael Sonnen and Arianny Celeste engage in war of words
Chael Sonnen knows how to start a fight. Though his sharp words are usually aimed at UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva and anyone who supports Silva, he turned towards UFC Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste when asked about her in an interview to promote the World MMA Awards.
He was asked who he is supporting for Ring Girl of the Year in the awards ceremony that will take place in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
We only had one and that was Chandella [Powell]. The other was the IQ card girl. Arianny [Celeste] kind of walks around and holds up her latest test score. One time when there was a title fight, she got all the way up to five and we were very proud of her.
Ouch. Celeste and Sonnen then sparred on Twitter with messages that have been deleted. Celeste started:
Hey what's ur name.. after @spideranderson kicks your [expletive]..u won't even be able to count to 5!! Get ready to kiss brazils [expletive]!
And Sonnen's reply:
Seems easy to wear a bikini and seems easy to walk in a circle, but try walking in a circle while wearing a bikini. Talented girl.
The original interviewer didn't ask Sonnen about the source of his issues with Celeste, but with Sonnen, he usually doesn't need a reason to call someone out. He became angry with Canada for no good reason, and a man who can hate that lovely, docile country for no good reason could easily extend his dislike to Celeste.
At the same time, it could also be Sonnen's marketing mind at work. He is hosting the awards, meaning that there is a fair to middling chance that he will have to share a stage with Celeste. This spat sure makes you want to watch the awards on FoxSports.com, doesn't it?

TUF 14 openers: Delorme surprises Ferguson with rapid third-round finish, Albert and Siler also winners
LAS VEGAS - Roland Delorme has some pretty nasty jiu-jitsu. It took a while to pay off, but when Josh Ferguson got rocked in the third, Delorme ran roughshod over him. He got the finish at 0:22 of the final round via rear-naked choke in fight No. 3 of the night on the Season 14 "Ultimate Fighter Finale" undercard.
Ferguson, a strong puncher, had a lot of steam taken away in the first when Delorme caught him in a triangle choke predicament. The 5-foot-5 Ferguson used a ton of energy to avoid tapping out as he struggled for nearly two minutes. The second round was basically even with Ferguson scoring a takedown and neither fighter landing any of significance on the feet.
The third opened with Ferguson moving forward and getting nailed with a hard jab. It didn't look like much, but Ferguson went down and looked stunned. He jumped forward from his knees to try and grab Delorme's leg. The Canadian threw him to the side and jumped on his back. In a split second, he turned it over, locked on the choke and trapped Ferguson's right arm. He was helpless and had to tap.
Siler uses Thai clinch to bust up Clopton
Steven Siler had a height advantage and he used it tonight against Josh Clopton.
Giving away four inches, Clopton couldn't stay out of or free himself from Siler's constant efforts to lock on a Thai clinch. Siler's big knees allowed him to crush Clopton's nose, get the blood flowing and score with the judges on his way to a unanimous decision win, 29-28 on all three scorecards, in fight No. 2 of the night at the TUF 14 Finale.
"The win feels great. That was a hard hard fight for sure. He took a beating, I thought he'd go down but he kept coming. I started off slow, I was a little bothered by that but once I got it going, I got into a groove and I think I finished off really well," said Siler.
Siler's fighting style isn't pretty, but he likes to brawl. His size was simply too much for the diminutive Clopton. You don't often see high level fighters dominated for minutes at a time in the Thai clinch (in standing position, hands locked together behind the opponent's head), but that's exactly what happened to Clopton. He blocked a lot of the knees coming from Siler, but way too many got through.
By the middle of the second, Clopton's face was a bloody mess and he was having trouble breathing.
It was an accomplishment just to make it to the TUF 14 Finale for Siler. In the featherweight round of 16, he was matched up against Micah Miller, one of the pre-show favorites. Siler (19-9, 1-0 UFC) pulled the massive upset and went on to lose to eventual finalist Diego Brandao in just 30 seconds in the next round.
"You know The Ultimate Fighter was the best thing that ever happened to me. I appreciate everyone who got me involved in the show. I wouldn't change it for the world," said Siler.
Brimage lands heavier shots in decision win over Bass
Marcus Brimage can slug with the best of them so he was a little surprised that Stephen Bass chose to duke it out. Bass didn't leave on a stretcher, but he didn't land enough shots to counter the nasty kicking game of Brimage. Brimage scored a unanimous decision victory, 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
"The game plan didn't go like I wanted to. Stephen was able to utilize his angles as well but it ended up being a good fight. I'm not ecstatic about the outcome but I'm very grateful," Brimage said. "This has been a crazy experience, almost better than sex, that's the only way to describe it."
Brimage found a home for his left hand throughout the fight, but never landed one that knocked Bass down. His biggest shots came on inside leg kicks. Several of them whipped Bass' leg into the air. One outside leg kick actually dropped Bass in the second.
Albert runs through Pague with quick first-round TKO
John Albert and Dustin Pague went for broke from the opening seconds of the TUF 14 Finale bout. Albert landed the first big shot and it spelled doom for Pague.
After he landed seven unanswered rapid fire shots to the downed fighter, Albert forced referee Herb Dean to save Pague at the 1:22 mark of the first round.
"It's the best feeling in the world, I didn't know whether to cry or scream. I honestly thought it was going to be a three-round war," said Albert.
Pague, one of the strongest strikers on the show, wanted to slug it out and Albert, who's more of a ground specialist, stood with him. An Albert left stunned Pague and a right hook buckled his legs then dropped him. On the ground, Albert showed some brilliance by securing Pague's right arm and trapping it across his face. With his free right hand, Albert pounded away. When Dean saved Pague, the stunned fighter turned to trying to fight the ref. His head had clearly been scrambled in taking dozens of shots to the arm and dome.
"He is an amazing kick boxer and I was going to try to dictate the fight but I didn't think I hit that hard. I want to fight Dominick Cruz next, but I'll do whatever the UFC says. I'll fight next week, I'm ready. I feel good," said Albert.
Caraway abuses Neace on the ground for choke victory
Bryan Caraway still has to overcome that confidence bugaboo, but when he's feeling good and on his game, he's a pretty tough fighter at featherweight.
The Team Alpha Male camper opened tonight's card with an easy win over Dustin Neace.
In the first and second, Caraway settled down by trading hands with Neace. As soon as he decided it was time to go to the ground, it did.
Caraway (16-5, 1-0 UFC) scored a double-leg takedown with 2:45 left in the first and controlled Neace on the mat for the remainder of the round. With 2:33 left in the second, he did the same. This time, Caraway quickly transitioned to take Neace's back. Caraway slapped on the rear-naked and it took about four seconds for Neace to bail on the fight and submit.
"It went well, it was different, a little strange because he is one of my main training partners on the show, became pretty good friends with him, so it didn't feel quite the same as a real fight," Caraway said. "But it was good, I got the W, that's what matters. It feels good to win. It's been a crazy up and down experience but all for the better. I'm excited for my future."
This wasn't Caraway's Zuffa debut. He fought twice for the WEC losing to Fredson Paixao and Mark Hominick. His only other losses have come against solid featherweights like Wilson Reis, Ian Loveland and John Gunderson.
If you don?t have Fuel TV, Dana White promises you will soon
CHICAGO -- Fuel TV, a station that's part of the Fox Family of networks, will soon turn into a UFC fan's paradise. According to UFC president Dana White, it will be a must have for any MMA fan. It will air live fights, MMA news, and pre-fight and post-fight coverage.
"Basically, you cannot be a UFC fan and not have Fuel. We're going to have so many live fights and content that MMA fans are going to want," White said at Wednesday's UFC on Fox 2 press conference.
It's fantastic ... if Fuel is part of your cable or satellite package. As soon as the UFC's deal with Fox was announced, I checked my cable guide, and found out that Comcast does not offer Fuel. According to people's complaints on Twitter and Facebook, I was not alone.
White says that will change soon.
"I think that was part of Fox's strategy in signing the UFC. They've gone up 11 percent since we signed the deal with Fox, and they're in 38 million homes."
While White is confident that more cable and satellite providers will add Fuel, it won't hurt for fans to call and politely ask for it.
"I think it's already happening. The announcements that we made have people [expletive] at their cable companies since we made the announcement."

A big year for UFC closes with Snoop Dogg at Christmas party
The UFC took its game to another level in 2011, so why not go over the top with a year-end celebration?
The long sought after network exposure arrived with the Fox deal, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that the fellas at Zuffa went big for a company Christmas party that included a Snoop Dogg performance at Red Rock Casino Resort. Here's some raw video from the performance (NSFW).
A jubilant Dana White, who is pictured with the Fertitta Brothers and Snoop, gave a big thanks to his staff.
It must've been a helluva party. White, who is seemingly on Twitter 20 hours a day, checked back in Monday afternoon.

Michael Bisping doesn?t want to hear about Jason Miller?s stamina, ?Mayhem? just needs work on his game
Michael Bisping just wanted a little more credit following his win over Jason "Mayhem" Miller, so he scolded the media who were saying the American ran out of steam early in the fight.
"Did you see the pace of the fight? Did you see how many punches I was throwing? Any time I stop someone it's because they gassed. I guarantee Jason didn't gas. I guarantee Jason could've gone five rounds," said Bisping.
The Brit said he was the reason Miller was physically and mentally sapped by the middle of the third round.
"Guess what? You might have cardio but when someone's landing big body shots like I was ... kneeing you in the stomach and punching you repeatedly in the face, your cardio gets affected," Bisping said. "Even the best runner would gas. You get Lindford Christie in there and beat the [expletive] out of him, see how fast he runs the 100 meters."
Bisping believes Miller can compete in the UFC, but the 30-year-old MMA veteran needs a lot of work.
"I've got good takedown defense and he took me down. Against someone less experienced, he could've gotten a submission. He gave me a tough first round," Bisping said. "If I were him, I'd go train striking, keep his shape a little bit more when he's standing up and be a little more orthodox."
Because Miller was launching his head each time he threw an overhand right, it almost became a short night for Bisping. He got drilled in the first when the fighter's clashed heads.
"He was throwing it and really committing with his head. I could feel it instantly and a big lump on my head," Bisping said. "When I'm sparring I prefer a really good, high-level boxer. Someone who's really good and technical. I do great against those guys. Someone who's unorthodox, a beginner if you will ... they catch you with shots because they do stupid things that they're not supposed to do. They don't follow the guidelines."
Miller has survived solely on his grappling by fighting in Japan, Strikeforce and some of the minor leagues around the U.S. He definitely needs to dedicate himself to the stand-up game or his stay in the UFC could be very brief.

America wants ?Mayhem? Miller to punch Michael Bisping in the face
The fine folks at Ranger Up created a short film expressing a desire that is present in so many proud Americans: the wish to see Michael Bisping punched in the face.
Over the course of this season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Bisping has endeared himself to few people. His "pranks," dislike of Miller's dog, and use of a mole to try to find out inside information on his opponent add on to to tarnish the image of a man who isn't exactly loved in the U.S. as is.
Miller will get the chance to make America happy on Saturday at "The Ultimate Fighter" finale. It's been more than a year since he last fought, with his last bout a submission of Kazushi Sakuraba. Bisping's last fight was a TKO of Jorge Rivera, most remembered for how Bisping spit at Rivera's cornermen after the win. Will Miller take the win, or will the British fighter? Speak your mind in the comments or on Facebook.

Michael Bisping Beats Down Jason Mayhem Miller in UFC Main Event
Filed under: UFC
The main event of Saturday night's Ultimate Fighter Finale featured Jason "Mayhem" Miller getting a bully beatdown, as Michael Bisping dominated the second round before finishing the fight with a technical knockout in the third.Bisping and Miller had coached against each other on this season of The Ultimate Fighter and developed a rivalry, but it wasn't much of a rivalry in the Octagon on Saturday night: Although Miller got off to a fast start, Bisping took it to Miller as the fight wore on and won it handily.
"He's a tough son of a gun," Bisping said of Miller afterward. "I'm here to entertain. I think me and Jason put on a fantastic season of The Ultimate Fighter. ... I'm proud to be part of The Ultimate Fighter, proud to be part of the UFC."
Miller came out swinging and hit Bisping hard in the initial exchanges in the first round, and Miller got exactly what he wanted a couple minutes into the round: He took Bisping down and mounted him against the cage, pinning Bisping's legs together with a triangle. However, Miller wasn't able to do much with his advantageous position and Bisping eventually got back to his feet. It was a good first round for Miller, although he missed an opportunity to capitalize on the ground.
The second round was another story altogether, as Bisping took complete control in the stand-up, peppering Miller's face with punches and turning his face into a bruised, bloody mess. Miller tried to act like he wasn't hurt and even dropped his hands to challenge Bisping to keep bringing it, but it was clear that Bisping was hurting Miller with punches. Late in the round Bisping started to mix in knees, and at the end of the round Bisping knocked Miller down, jumped on top of him and was close to finishing him with elbows when the horn sounded.
And then in the third Bisping really went to work, hitting Miller with even more punches and then following Miller to the ground when Miller attempted a takedown. Bisping hammered away at Miller, beat on him with punches and elbows, and it was finally knees to the body that led referee Steve Mazzagatti to stop the fight.
The win improves Bisping's record to 22-3. Miller falls to 23-8, and he told the fans afterward that he did all he could against a tough opponent.
"I trained really hard for this fight," Miller said. "I'm sorry, guys, I got tired. I can't make any excuses about it. For all the boos Michael Bisping gets, as a fighter he deserves your applause."
Bisping deserved plenty of applause for what he did on Saturday.
