Ronda Rousey rips fan who asks an inappropriate question (Video)

The UFC is on a media tour around North America this week. On Wednesday, they stopped in New York City. Fans were welcomed to the press conference, but as you can see in the video, not everything a fan says is welcome.

According to Eric Holden, a fan asked Rousey how many times she has sex before a fight.

"It's not an appropriate question to ask," she responded. "If your mother was standing behind you and heard you ask that question, what would she say to you?"

Rousey has answered the question about sex before fights in an interview with Conan O'Brien.

There are major differences between the two situations. With O'Brien, Rousey is in a controlled environment, not having someone yell random things at her in a free-for-all. Secondly, she has answered the question, so what is this person's motive for asking her? To see if she'll respond? To get a date?

She is absolutely 100 percent right to yell at this man. The questions and statements that get yelled at fighters can too often be downright rude. Rousey's rule is one that's a pretty good guideline for life. If your mother would have a problem with you saying -- or typing -- it, you shouldn't say it. And if your mother wouldn't have a problem with you yelling lewd things at strangers, well, therapy is a good option.

Bellator content to let champion Ben Askren go to the UFC

Bellator put up a significant fight to keep lightweight Eddie Alvarez on the organization?s roster, going so far as to file suit as a means of staking their claim to the former champion?s rights. Interestingly enough, it doesn?t look like the promotion will make a similar effort when it comes to retaining the services of […]

Bellator moves on from women?s MMA

The UFC added a women's division earlier this year, which was a huge step forward for women in MMA. Bellator had women fighting on their cards from the beginning of the promotion, but news came late Tuesday night that they were dissolving their women's division. Jessica Eye, Jessica Aguilar, and Felice Herrig were released from their contracts.

"I?ve said many times that fighters need to fight and fight often. Given our current focus, we are not in position to provide these very deserving women regular and reoccurring fights on a large platform. And, I felt it was best to let them go and secure options that did. I genuinely wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and will be rooting for each of them wherever they fight," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said in a statement.

Herrig announced on Tuesday she signed with Invicta, the all-women's promotion. She's 4-1 in her last five bouts, and will make an interesting addition to Invicta's straw weight division. Eye and Aguilar are still exploring options of where they will fight next.

Bellator had non-tournament women's bouts from the beginning of the promotion, and held the straw weight tournament to crown a champion in 2010. Zoila Gurgel won it, but they never found her a challenger in her own weight class. Gurgel moved to Invicta earlier this year.

Robbie Lawler in MMA renaissance after UFC on Fox 8 win

At 31 years of age, Robbie Lawler is in his second stint with the UFC. His first fight back in the UFC after fighting for Strikeforce and Elite XC was a first-round knockout. He had his second fight back at UFC on Fox 8 in Seattle on Saturday. This time, he won early in the second round with a knockout of Bobby Voelker.

Lawler, who has been fighting since 2001, looked sharper and more technical in the cage than he has ever been, controlling Voelker for the first round. He bloodied Voelker's nose, then showed off with a flying knee and several kicks.

The kick is exactly what stopped the fight for Lawler in the second round. He hit Voelker squarely in the face with his shin, and then followed up with precise ground and pound to end the fight 24 seconds into the second round.

Lawler attributed the change in his performance to his new training camp, American Top Team.

?I?m excited. Camp went really well and I felt really good with the weight cut. They really woke me up at American Top Team. I?m happy, but I want to go home and see my family. I?m healthy so I want to get back in there and train, but I just want to spend some time with my family right now.?

This sharp, technically sound Lawler is an upgrade from the powerful brawler he has been throughout much of his career. Previously, you could count on Lawler putting on fun fights, but not necessarily win. He hasn't strung together two wins since 2007, when he beat Murilo Rua and Frank Trigg. Now, at 31 years old and after 31 fights, a better fighter is emerging.

Three Stars from Ultimate Fight Night 26: Matt Brown works quickly

How do we pick just three stars from Saturday night's Ultimate Fight Night 26? The UFC was hoping to make a mark on Fox's new network, Fox Sports 1. They did just that. Here are the biggest stars from a bright and shiny night.

No. 1 star -- Matt Brown: Imagine you're a UFC fighter. Matchmaker Joe Silva's name comes up on your phone, and you pick it up happily. "Joe, what fight do you have for me?" If he answers, "Matt Brown," your happiness would disappear instantly. Brown is currently fighting like he has no time to waste on game plans and decisions. He is on a six-fight winning streak, with the last five coming by knockout. His last two fights totaled 1:29 of action, and now he wants a title shot.

No. 2 star -- Travis Browne: Browne withstood an early onslaught from Alistair Overeem, including an unpenalized illegal knee. He then came back to take advantage of Overeem coming forward with his face exposed. Browne used a front kick to get a first-round knockout win. This is Browne's second straight win, both by knockout.

No. 3 star -- Chael Sonnen: Apparently, Sonnen is more comfortable at light heavyweight than he showed in his fight with Jon Jones. Sonne beat Mauricio "Shogun" Rua with a guillotine. It was the first time Rua lost by submission since his 2007 loss to Forrest Griffin.

Who stood out for you? Speak up on Facebook or Twitter.
