UFC Fight Night 29 Was Very Upsetting

“UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Shields” didn’t garner much hoopla on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t because the show didn’t offer its fair share of surprises. In fact, half of the results were downright upsetting. No, I’m not referring to Jake Shields going into hostile territory to take a controversial split decision win over Demian [...]

Urijah Faber wants to know about that time you got into a fight

Urijah Faber would like to know about that time you got into a fight because that guy looked at you funny at the bar. Or maybe you were at a wedding, and the best man's girlfriend was talking smack about the bride. Though Faber, who beat Yuri Alcantara over the weekend, does not want people to go out looking for fights, he knows that they happen. When they do, he wants you to share them for a web comic with Fox Sports.

The first installment has very not safe for work language, but still ends up as pretty hilarious. A black belt in knitting adds to the overall effect.

A Win Is Not a Win for Jake Shields

“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the ONLY thing.” You can walk into any locker room across the globe and you’ll hear a coach preaching that mantra to his players. Athletes are saying it to each other before taking the field. Mixed martial arts, however, is starting to make its own twist to the old adage – [...]

Five questions that will be answered by the UFC?s first fight on Fox Sports 1

The UFC will make its debut on Fox Sports 1 on Saturday with a really fun card. What will we learn from these fights? Read on.

Does Chael Sonnen have any business fighting at light heavyweight? Though all of his previous UFC fights were at middleweight, Sonnen talked his way into a title shot at light heavyweight. After losing to Jon Jones, he's trying another bout at 205 lbs. with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. He can show if he belongs fighting at this weight or if he should go back down to middleweight.

Has Alistair Overeem recovered from being knocked out by Antonio Silva? When "Big Foot" knocked out Overeem in February, it was the first time he had suffered a knockout since 2007. Returning from a shocking loss like that is no small feat. He can show if he's resilient in a bout with Travis Browne.

Does Matt Brown deserve a title shot? He's been under the radar, but he is on a five-fight winning streak, with the last three wins coming by second round knockouts. With an impressive win over Mike Pyle, he could get the next welterweight title shot.

Can Conor McGregor live up to the hype? For a guy with one UFC win, McGregor has generated an awful lot of buzz. He will get a chance to show what he's capable of against Max Holloway, who is coming off of a loss to Dennis Bermudez.

Is Uriah Hall just a TUF star? Everyone was blown away with the raw power Hall showed during "The Ultimate Fighter," but he fizzled at the TUF finale and lost to Kelvin Gastelum. Against John Howard, Hall can show if he's just a TUF flash in the pan or a real prospect.
