Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold recently went online to announce he was heading back to the gym to start training for his next fight. Though the opponent has yet to surface, it looks like a time and place have at least been attached to the 27-year old?s next tilt.
Rockhold?s name has been attached to the newly revealed November 3 card in Oklahoma City. A heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier-Frank Mir is also expected to take place at the event. Cormier is also a teammate of Rockhold’s at American Kickboxing Academy.
MMAWeekly was first to report Rockhold?s involvement at the show.
Though the middleweight division?s top contender is technically up in the air, the most likely candidate to fill the slot opposite Rockhold is undoubtedly Ronaldo Souza. ?Jacare? is a former 185-pound champion who has won twice since dropping the belt to Rockhold by decision a year ago. He holds an overall record of 16-3 with thirteen finishes.
