MLB outfielder Bryce Harper recently tweeted his desire to own a UFC championship title belt of his own. Cy Young Award winners Max Scherzer and Clayton Kershaw each received pro wrestling title belts from the WWE recently, and Harper wanted something a bit more real.
So, the Washington Nationals star asked the UFC one, via twitter, of course.
"I need to get a belt, everybody has WWE ones, I want a @UFC one! Anyway we can make that happen? @danawhite @joerogan @lorenzofertitta ," Harper tweeted to the UFC, its president, television analyst and co-owner.
The UFC's twitter account replied, "@Bharper3407 Only if you promise to hit a home run while wearing the UFC belt ;). Seriously we'll send you one if you send us a pic with it!"
Harper promised to oblige them and now, just days later, he's got his UFC gold.
The UFC account tweeted, "@Bharper3407 trains like a champ in the offseason. Look forward to seeing you hit a HR w/ the belt on, Bryce! @MLB".
Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia used to wear his title belt around town and even to bed. Harper seems just about as attached to his belt as the "Mainiac" was.
