One of the greatest kickboxers in the sport?s storied history will make his way back to the ring this fall after three years away due to a nagging eye injury, as Remy Bojansky has been announced for action on October 6 at Glory 2: Brussels where the devastating Dutchman will face Anderson Silva in the card?s main event.
The bout was revealed earlier today through an official press release from the promotion.
Bojansky is a former K-1 World Grand Prix champion with an incredible 75-14 record in kickboxing including 40 wins by way of knockout. He holds past wins over a number of fellow greats such as Jerome LeBanner, Musahi, and even Alistair Overeem.
?Everything is in place – my health, the support of my team and a place in the world?s top kickboxing league,? said Bojansky in a prepared statement. ?GLORY has put together a roster of the best heavyweights on the planet – the timing for my return and making another run at becoming a world champion is perfect.?
His opponent, Silva, is not to be confused with the UFC middleweight who holds the same name. The 25-year old is 32-7 in his career but is coming off back-to-back decision defeats.
